NEET 2021 Exam Latest Updates : The National Testing Agency  extended the application period for NEET (UG)-2021 exam. Interested candidates can now apply up to August 10, 2021, 5 pm. The last date for payment of the application fee is up to August 10, 11:59 pm. Eligible candidates can apply at – neet.nta.nic.in.

The application process began on July 13 and the earlier application deadline was August 6. However,  the NTA informed that the NEET-UG result data will also be utilized for B.Sc. (H) Nursing courses in accordance with their respective eligibility criteria. Therefore, the application deadline has been extended. 

NEET 2021 Exam Live Updates, July 13, 2021 : The newly-appointed Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, on Monday July 12, 2021 said that the NEET (UG) 2021 will be held on 12 September across the country following coronavirus protocols. The entrance test for admission in MBBS/ BDS courses will be held on September 12, 2021. The application process for NEET-UG will begin from 5 pm on July 13 , the Union Education Minister said.  NEET aspirants will be able to register for the exam at ntaneet.nic.in from 5 pm on July 13.

“The NEET (UG) 2021 will be held on 12th September 2021 across the country following COVID-19 protocols. The application process will begin from 5 pm tomorrow through the NTA website(s). (sic),” the minister wrote on Twitter.

NEET 2021 will be conducted in 198 cities across the country as compared to 155 in 2020. Pradhan also said that the number of examination centres will be increased from 3,862 used last year.

“In order to ensure social distancing norms, number of cities where examination will be conducted has been increased from 155 to 198. The number of examination centres will also be increased from the 3862 centres used in 2020,” he tweeted.

Candidates need soft copies of relevant documents to apply for the exam. The list includes the candidate’s photograph, signature, left-hand thumb impression, class 10 mark sheet, class 10 passing certificate, class 12 mark sheet, class 12 passing certificate, ID proof (such as Aadhaar Card).

Earlier in April, it was announced that the exam will be held on August 1. However, the exam was postponed due to the coronavirus situation across the country. Last year, the NEET-UG 2020 was conducted on September 13 amid strict precautions in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 13.66 lakh candidates had appeared in the exam of whom 7,71,500 qualified.

NTA changes exam pattern for NEET-UG 2021

The test pattern of NEET (UG)-2021 comprises of two sections. Each subject will consist of two sections. Section A will consist of 35 questions and Section B will have 15 questions, out of these 15 questions, candidates can choose to attempt any 10 questions. So, the total number of questions and utilisation of time will remain the same.

NEET-UG 2021 to be held on 13 languages

NEET (UG) – 2021 will be conducted in 13 languages i.e. English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
