CBSE, ICSE Board Class 12 Exams 2021 News Updates: The CBSE Class 12 board examinations has been cancelled. The decision was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi keeping the student’s safety in consideration.
The meeting was attended by several union ministers including Rajnath Singh, Prakash Javadekar, Piyush Goyal, Nirmala Sitharaman, Dharmendra Pradhan and bureaucrats of various ministries. PM Modi was briefed on all possible options that have emerged following extensive discussions with all states and other stakeholders.
“In view of the uncertain conditions due to COVID and the feedback obtained from various stakeholders, it was decided that Class XII Board Exams would not be held this year. It was also decided that CBSE will take steps to compile the results of Class 12 students as per a well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner” the government said.
Earlier today, ahead of announcing his final decision on conducting the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal ‘Nishank’ tweeted ”safety and future of thousands of students” across the country remain the top priority of Narendra Modi government. The Education Minister also admitted that conducting the CBSE Board examinations for students in the prevailing COVID scenario is a huge challenge for the government.
ICSE Board Class 12 Exams 2021 Updates: Following the cancellation of the CBSE Board examination on Tuesday, the Council For The Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has also cancelled its ISC examination for the year 2021.
The CBSE has released an official notification stating that the postponed Class 12 exams now stands cancelled. “Any student who is not satisfied with the assessment has an option to appear in the exam as and when the situation becomes conducive”, reads the official statement by CBSE.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a meeting with union ministers, cabinet secretary and other stakeholders to discuss the situation of Class 12 board exams and review all the possible options on the exam.

The Prime Minister said that the decision on Class 12 CBSE exams has been taken in the interest of students. He stated that COVID-19 has affected the academic calendar and the issue of Board Exams has been causing immense anxiety among students, parents and teachers, which must be put to an end.
