New Delhi CBSE Board has released the subject-wise criteria for Class 10th and Class 12th Theory and Practical/Project/Internal assessment. CBSE Board has released a detailed notification confirming the passing criteria required by students to clear the upcoming CBSE Board Exam 2020. CBSE released the detailed notification on 8th November 2019 under the banner of ‘List of subjects having practical / project / internal assessment components for Class X and Class XII, 2020 examination’.

Guidelines released by the CBSE Board:

As per guidelines released by the CBSE Board Exam 2020, passing criteria for both practical and theory exams have been retained the same as earlier. To pass Class 10th, 11th or Class 12th Board exam, students have to obtain a minimum of 33% marks in Theory and Practical /Project/Internal examinations.

Note: Passing Criteria NOT Revised by CBSE

One of the key concerns with regards to this notification is that many media agencies have misreported this as revision in the passing criteria by CBSE Board. This has led to confusion among the students who are poised to appear for CBSE 10th Board Exam 2020 and CBSE 12th Board Exam 2020. However, the confusion stems from misreading of the notification. The notification merely reconfirms the passing marks and criteria for the CBSE Board Exam 2020 and doesn’t propose any revised passing marks for the exam.
